Travel with a Purpose Literacy Program
B Helpful Love is a 501 c 3 local non-profit organization founded in July 2019 by Natasha White. Our organization aims to assist our senior citizen community aged 55 years and older with everyday living in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties.
Travel with a Purpose Literacy Program
Our literacy program creates an opportunity for all participants to gain the following skills:
• Reading Comprehension
• Basic Math
• Beginner Technology 101
• GED inquiry assistance
All four skills are led by experienced and highly qualified teacher volunteers. As all our teaching volunteers have completed and met the Department of Health and Human Services requirements to teach in public, private and/or in a licensed childcare facility.
This Program Matters
According to www.proliteracy.org more that 36 million adults in the United States can’t read, write or do basic math above a 3rd grade level (2019). Our program will provide our senior citizen community a better way of living. Becoming self sufficient of being able to read and understanding materials that are provided to them on a daily basis without having to depend on others to do it for them.
