CEO of B* Helpful Love Inc. I am currently working towards finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship with a GPA of 3.4. For the past 10 years, I have been working for one of the largest utility companies. My goal for the organization is to do something no other company or organization is doing, which is to provide more hands-on assistance to the senior community. I aim to provide resources to the senior community so they can accomplish ordinary tasks on a daily basis.

Beyond my role as CEO and director of the organization, I am also the Ceo of NKJ Interior Designs, CEO B* Fly Candle Co, a mother to 2 young adults, and a grandmother to an 8-year-old named Aubree. In my spare time, I love to shop, watch football, skate, go bowling, and play pool

Sharon Hicks

Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer

Sharon has been a business professional in corporate America for more than 40 years. She is a mother of 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Her spare time is spent traveling to places such as Italy, Paris, London, Fiji, Australia, and the list goes on.

Over the years, she has volunteered in positions such as Youth Probation Dept. schools, senior facilities, food banks, the Salvation Army and the Crisis Assistance Ministry. When she accepted a board member position in this non-profit field, it gave her the opportunity to help others, which she loves doing.

She wants to demonstrate an understanding of the communities we serve. Additionally, her goal is to ensure that resources are used to carry out the mission of our organization, B Helpful Love.

Kanika Allison

Chief Marketing Officer

Kanika has a degree in film and video production, where she made Deans List every semester and was inducted into the National Honors Society. She has written, directed and edited several short films, and has background in photography. Most recently, Kanika wrote, directed and edited a commercial for a popular popcorn company located in uptown Charlotte. She also has over 10 years experience working with kids in the school system. Kanika is currently a CDL driver, and has taught school bus safety classes to children. She has volunteered hours at Change the World summer camp and Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. Kanika enjoys being near the ocean, relaxing on sandy beaches and enjoying life. In addition to traveling, Kanika enjoys reading and painting.

Dr. Wanda Taylor

Chief Operating Officer

Wanda Taylor has worked with special needs children and young adults for over 15 years. She has also worked with homeless families for 6 years. Wanda currently serves as a missionary at her church and in her spare time she loves cooking especially baking all kinds of goodies, she loves to crochet and read books. Her passion has always been to help others and give back to the community. Wanda chose B* Helpful Love because the organization gives back to the senior citizen community, she belives she would be an asset to the organization because she has a desire to be a voice for those in the senior community and spread love with our homeless community.

April Wallace

Volunteer Coordinator

April Wallace. Native of Charlotte NC.

Graduate of Winston-Salem State University, and University of North Carolina @ Greensboro. Ms. Wallace worked for Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library for 26 years until her retirement. During her tenure she built valuable community business partnerships. Ms. Wallace partnered with The REACH Project and successfully led a Back to School initiative for over 7 years. This annual project provided over 2000 families with school supplies to ensure students were ready for a successful school year.

After retirement, Ms Wallace moved to Charleston, WV and became the Executive Assistant Library Director for Kanawha Public Library for over 3years. While serving in this capacity she served as interim Library Director on two separate occasions to ensure continuity remain for staff and citizens of the county. She provided leadership to staff during the Covid-19 crisis and continued to provide exceptional service virtually to public until all could safely return to in person visits. Additionally; under her leadership a 31 million Library renovation project continued to moved forward until the new Executive Director retained their position.

Ms. Wallace is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She is heavily involved in meeting the mission of her organization by donating her time and service. Ms. Wallace serves as The Volunteer Chair person for B*Helpfullove's Board.

During April's downtime, she enjoys spending time with family and friends or traveling to see loved ones as her schedule allows. She is youngest of three sisters, who are extremely close. Although she is not a mom; she is beloved by her three nephews.

April's motto is; whatever you attempt to accomplish do your best and leave your accomplishment much stronger than before you arrived to make a positive impact. With God all things are possible, and prayer works.

Co-Director of B Helpful love 2(Gastonia)

I have been working with children who have disabilities for over 12 years and I have volunteered with the company Meals ON Wheels for the past 8 years. I have an Associate degree in Psychology and operate a successful holistic cooking business.  I chose to be a part of  B* Helpful Love Inc because their mission and vision align with who I am as a person. I have a passion for helping those in need and giving back to the community.
